I am Dr Xavier Martí.
I help people who value their health make the best possible decision when a hand or wrist problem begins to affect their daily life.
Not all patients are looking for the same thing
Some value medical judgement, personalised care and peace of mind when important decisions have to be made.

Because not all hands need the same treatment.
And not all patients should receive standardised care
I take the necessary time to fully understand each case, establish an accurate diagnosis — including ultrasound assessment when appropriate — and recommend only what is truly beneficial for you at this stage of your life.
Sometimes that means surgery.
Sometimes it doesn’t.
Knowing the difference is a fundamental part of my work.
Imagine using your hands again without thinking about them
Opening a jar.
Sleeping through the night without tingling or numbness.
Holding a glass without fear.
Playing an instrument again, working, or practising your sport without pain or uncertainty.
That is the goal.
Not surgery for its own sake.
Not treating isolated symptoms.
But restoring function, confidence and peace of mind.
Experience is not about doing more — it is about deciding better.
Let me tell you a story
I once operated on my grandmother.
She was 93 years old.
For years, she had been unable to sleep at night because of the pain in her hands.
She had come to accept the pain as part of her life.
When she finally told me about it and I examined her, I explained that her problem had a solution.
She was terrified.
Afraid of getting worse.
Afraid that something might go wrong.
Afraid of the pain of surgery.
She told me she was too old to go into an operating theatre.
In the end, she decided to go ahead.
That same night, she said to me:
“I wish I had done this earlier.”
How I understand private medicine
I work independently from insurance companies and volume-based care models.
Because this kind of medicine cannot — and should not — be rushed.
And because I believe your health deserves more than a five-minute consultation.
Private medicine should allow:
- Real time to listen and examine
- Well-founded diagnoses
- Decisions made without haste or external pressure
- Honest, direct and human care
This approach is for you if:
- You value time, experience and sound medical judgement
- You are looking for an honest, well-grounded medical opinion
- You want to avoid rushed or unnecessary decisions
- You prefer to pay for excellent care rather than standard care
- You understand health as an investment, not a formality
Taking the next step is simple
If this approach resonates with you, I would be pleased to assess your case.
Book an appointment and let’s discuss your situation calmly.
